BK Compagnie was founded in Berlin in 1998 as a multidisciplinary laboratory for the development and production of live performances, mainly focused on the staging of the body.
Performers and dancers, who take part in various projects, enhance the creations of their personal skills and experience to produce a unique choreographic piece. The research draws its sources in these areas provided by each artist, to extract a creative substance, unique and original to all productions that are more concepts of body installation where the notion of catalyst is an essential.
We understand "body in motion" as providing more perspective than the simple notion of movements. This implies gravity, interaction, rhythm, weight, organic, perception, sensory, time and space...
Our artistic education, from different areas of contemporary and contact dance, mime, circus, Butoh, free body expression and martial arts, is more a guideline rather than the end in itself. These trainings and teachings are the roots that produce and stimulate our imagination and feed the whole creative process.
